Aurora Lions Club President Message And With Her Board Of Directors

Aurora Lions Club  2019  President's Message

Greetings to all who have logged onto our webpage to learn a bit about your Aurora Lions Club.   We were chartered on April 12, 1944 and have run continuously since.  Our programs and activities have changed over the years as your needs have changed.

Our 5 main planks are Youth, Environment, Diabetes, Sight, Hunger.  A new area has been added this year to include Pediatric Cancer.

Our volunteers work very hard all year long to raise money to support these areas as well as the needs of our community.  We sponsor a very large Christmas Basket Program to help the less fortunate in our town with gifts and food.  We send a team of volunteers to The Polo for Heart event each June, that raises money for Heart and Stroke as well as Southlake Hospital Cardiac Program.  Every fall we enter the local schools to test the sight and hearing of the communities senior kindergarden students.  If and when problems are detected, we provide or help find funding for the children in need.

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers and we are always looking for new members to join us.  Anyone who might have an interest in Lions is invited to join us for a complementary meal and get to know us a little bit.   We meet twice a month at the Royal Canadian Legion at 105 Industrial Prkwy N, Aurora.  The 1st Tues each month is a dinner meeting and the 3rd Tues is a business meeting.  I invite you to come join us.
